Media center

The media center is located on basement level of the World Forum. Opening times will be extended.

Narrow casting
Throughout the World Forum building, information about the conference will be displayed on TV screens. Some of these screens in the media center will also show the live video relay of ongoing sessions.

Global Launch lounge
Press briefing will be given in the so called Global Launch Lounge, located on the ground floor, right at the stairs to the media center in the basement. This area is also open to entrepreneurs, corporates, investors and other participants in the summit. They will give presentations about deals and new initiatives. Events will be held in the Global Launch Lounge too. It is a great place to do reporting from.

GES 2019 will have its own mini-broadcasting station, during and ahead of the summit. GES TV will live stream the highlights and most important sessions. In addition the summit will be covered by GES TV reporters and presented in a good amount of short and attractive items.

All material will be available on a GES 2019 YouTube channel and on a dedicated platform, free of charge. Raw material/footage will also be available free of use. For technical questions please email to

World Forum Atrium

An app has been developed for GES 2019. It will be available from May 2019 in the Play Store (Android) or App Store (Apple). The app allows you to access the following information and interactive tools:

  • Announcements from the GES 2019Organization
  • Calendar, including an option to compile your own personal calendar
  • Detailed program information
  • Indoor map of the event location, including a navigation functionality
  • Transportation information
  • Location information
  • Profiles of all participating entrepreneurs. You can connect with them via built-in chat functionality.

Host broadcaster and host photographer
The GES 2019 organization will make complimentary high-quality host video material available on a special internet platform for media use. Login details for these platforms can be requested at and at the host broadcaster’s workspace in the media center. The signal will also be available at the media center (PAL).

The host photographer will post professional quality photos on Flickr. More details will be published in an update of this Media Note by mid May.

The host broadcaster and host photographer will also provide material of meetings where space is too limited to accommodate all interested media, and official imagery/video of closed-press events or meetings.

Media desk
A media will be located in the media center. Media officers will help you out with information about organizational and logistical issues.


Meals and refreshments
A complimentary buffet-style lunch will be served in the media center. The delegates’ lunch area, next to the media center, is also available for press, although may be crowded during delegate lunch periods. Coffee, tea, water, soft drinks and light snacks will be available around the clock in the media center bar, free of charge.

There are 140 workspaces available, with internet cable and electricity (Schuko socket, plug: two round prongs) 230V, 50Hz. No power converters are provided on-site.

Interview rooms
Six rooms are available in the media center for recording purposes or interviews. The rooms are unequipped. Reservations can be made at the media desk - only during the summit, not in advance.

Broadcast facilities
There is room on the premises for only a limited number of satellite newsgathering vans. Parking places on the TV compound will include power, cabled internet and pool signal.

Also a limited number of stand-up positions outside will be available with the entrance of the World Forum as backdrop. These unequipped positions will include 2x1,5 open space with a rooftop. Broadcasters will be responsible for their own power, lighting, camera, cabling and other needed equipment.

Inside the venue several branded backdrops will be available for short interviews. These are available without prior reservation. Media are free to establish stand-up and interview positions. Please do not obstruct pedestrian activity and keep cabling neat.

Individual breakout sessions may lack broadcast-quality lighting, but have multi outputs and camera riser room, first-come, first-served, as capacity permits.

High-quality wireless internet will be available throughout the World Forum conference venue. The connection is free to use. Access (credentials) to the wireless network will be provided at the conference location.

IT service at media desk
An IT service officer will be available at the media desk for all questions related to internet, IT and the GES 2019 app.

The conference is taking place in a populated area near the city center of The Hague. High-density multi- carrier cellular/mobile/GSM coverage is widely available throughout the area surrounding the conference venue.

Coverage will also be available inside the conference venue through a distributed antenna system. Depending on your phone plan, you can roam with several Dutch providers and have access to a high-speed data service. Please note that roaming rates will apply to foreign subscriptions.

Radio communication
The Dutch Agentschap Telecom ensures undisturbed telecommunications and coordinates the frequency use in the Netherlands and grants permits for this.

It is the responsibility of broadcasters to apply for licenses for their frequencies as soon as possible, at least 10 working days in advance of the summit. Requests can be made at use-of-frequencies-during-events-in-the-netherlands.

All broadcast RF-equipment will be scanned on arrival at the entrance of the venue and marked with a sticker for approval. Broadcasters who fail to obtain such approval stickers on their equipment will lose their accreditation.

Any equipment and activities that can interfere or disturb radio frequencies are strictly forbidden by law in the Netherlands. Such activities will be monitored both at the conference venue and at hotels.
