Public Voting Now Open for 2019 GIST Catalyst Competition
The Global Innovation through Science and Technology (GIST) in partnership with Academic Olympics will host the GIST Catalyst + Academic Olympics pitch competition at GES 2019 in The Hague, The Netherlands. Catalyst offers young STEM entrepreneurs the opportunity to elevate their pitch and showcase their scale-ups on a global stage, while receiving valuable startup training from American science and technology entrepreneurship experts.
Finalists will gain international visibility from pitching their ideas at GES 2019 and compete for over $400,000 in entrepreneurial resources. In addition, all finalists will receive extensive coaching and mentoring before the GES and select finalists will pitch during the closing plenary.
Three minute pitches
Startups competing in GIST Catalyst + Academic Olympics are from the five focus industries of the GES, which are energy, water, health, connectivity, and agriculture and food. During the GES, startup teams will give three minute pitches, without slides, to a small panel of judges followed by two to three minutes of questions.
Vote now and decide
Over 4,000 young entrepreneurs applied to pitch their innovative ideas and startups. Public voting for the 2019 GIST Catalyst Competition will begin May 13, 2019 and will close May 24, 2019 at 12:00 PM ET. The votes cast for the pitch videos of the over 150 selected startups will help decide the final 30 entrepreneurs who will pitch at the GES. Voting is taking place at www.GISTNetwork.org. Anyone in the world can vote online once a day during the voting period for each semi-finalist.
